The ingredient directory
Nothing hidden,
everything explained
Every ingredient we use, what it is and why it’s there. Naturally derived, organic wherever we can, with no parabens, synthetic fragrances or fillers.
About the EWG scores
A word on transparency
Beside each ingredient you’ll find its score from the EWG Skin Deep database, an independent US guide. Scores run from 1 (lowest hazard) to 10 (highest). Many scores are shown as a range, because EWG rates an ingredient differently depending on how it is used. Tap a score to see EWG’s full page.
You’ll notice our essential oils score a little higher than our carrier oils. That’s because essential oils naturally contain aromatic compounds such as limonene and linalool, which some people can be sensitive to. That doesn’t make them unsafe. It reflects the nature of essential oils: these compounds are what give citrus and flowers their scent, and the law asks every brand to name them so anyone with a sensitivity can choose with confidence. If you prefer to avoid essential oils, our Naked Whipped Shea Butter contains none, and every ingredient in it scores just 1 or 2.
Scores checked October 2026. EWG may update its ratings over time. Always patch test before first use.

Carrier oils & butters
The nourishing heart of every formula: unrefined, cold-pressed and organic wherever we can.
Shea Butter
Butyrospermum parkii butter
Pressed from the nuts of the African shea tree. Our shea is organic and comes from Ghana and Burkina Faso. It is naturally rich in fatty acids and vitamins A and E, melting into skin and hair to soften and seal in moisture.

Butyrospermum parkii oil
The liquid portion of shea butter. Lighter and faster-absorbing than the butter, it carries the same moisturising fatty acids and vitamins A and E.
Virgin Coconut Oil
Cocos nucifera oil
Cold-pressed from fresh coconut flesh. Rich in lauric acid, it softens and smooths skin and helps lock in moisture.
Japanese Camellia Seed Oil
Camellia oleifera seed oil
A silky oil long treasured in Japanese beauty rituals. High in oleic acid and omega fatty acids, it absorbs readily and leaves skin supple.
Prickly Pear Seed Oil
Opuntia ficus-indica seed oil
One of the most precious oils, cold-pressed from tiny cactus seeds. Rich in linoleic acid and vitamin E, it helps skin hold moisture and look brighter and more even.

Pressed from papaya seeds. A light, nourishing oil rich in fatty acids that leaves skin soft and helps it look smoother and brighter.

Technically a liquid wax, very similar to the skin's own natural oils. It balances and moisturises without feeling heavy.
